We have arrived at the Cog Railway Base Station parking lot.
But the lot is full. What a nice (cool) place.
-

So we park just back down the road a ways.
You can see pieces of "rack" lying here and there.
-

From the base station, we see the track climb up the mountain.
-

This is the first and only creek crossing that I am aware of.
-

We had to wait several hours because we didn't want to
ride the diesel. We wanted steam. This is a John Deer diesel.
-

There is plenty of time to look over the place and equipment.
-

Wife, Donna, says a little prayer for a safe trip.
-

Finally, our train is ready to go.
-

At the top, the weather is - as expected - Marginal.
-

From the platform on top of the observatory, the temperature
is 34 degrees (F) and the wind is 60 MPH.
-

Looking at the cog railroad from the top.
-

Looking over the west side where the track heads back down.
-

Looking east into Maine.
-

Time to head back down the mountain.
-
The End.
