Air Brake Components
Shown below are some of the components used in Tom'sair brake system. Select any image to get the big picture.
Pressure Gauge - 
Check Valve (prevents pressure leakage back through compressor.) - 
Quick Disconnect with Schrader Valve (holds pressure when disconnected.) (Usually used, two per car.) - 
Pressure Switch (Square D) (stops compressor when correct pressure is reached.) - 
Brake pressure regulator with handle. (Applies and releases brakes.) (usually one per system) | 
Air Tank with brass plug and manifold (usually one per system) - 
One complete truck brake assembly. - 
Brake Cylinder - .625" bore, .5" stroke x 2. (two required per truck.) - 
Brake arm (cast aluminum), spare piston and seal. - 
Spare return spring, rolled pin, 4-way manifold. |
